Ready To Crochet A Cute Baby Girl Cardigan For The Coming Winter?
I love cardigans so much. Once the summer is over and the sun stops warming my skin, the first thing I do is… I hasten to put one of my warm and beloved cardigans!
Same thing for the little girls. That’s why today I’m happy to present this cute crochet baby cardigan pattern… And I suggest you follow this pattern and just create your own for your baby girl.
You can make this pink cardigan in an afternoon and your sweetie will look adorable for sure, plus when you add this baby hat to the cardigan, you’ll be sure that the cold does not reach her.
Lastly, I choose to make it pink, but feel free to use any other yarn color, and let’s start now.
Pin it for later!
Skill level: Easy
Sizes: 6-12 months
Materials / Supplies:
You will need :
- crochet hook size: 3mm
- yarn: wool or cotton in any color
- stitch markers.
- Scissors.
- Yarn Needle.
- Tape measure.
- 1 flower (see the tutorial Here!).
- Button
Stitches:
- ch– chain
- st/sts-stitch/stitches
- sl st-slip stitch (Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook).
- sc=single crochet (Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops).
- dc-double crochet (Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops).
- rep– repeat
- sk-skip
Pattern Notes:
-Repeat what is written in the () as many times as it’s written right after the (). For an example: Repeat (2hdc, hdc1) 5 times. It means that you have to repeat the sequence work 2 hdc sts into the same st. 1 hdc into the next one 5 times. And you will get 5 additional stitches by doing that.
-At the end of each round/row please count how many sts do you have at the end of that round/row.
-In each round make slip stitch in the 3rd chain.
-Ch 3 count as a stitch.
Can I make a crochet baby cardigan in any size?
The answer is yes. you can crochet a cardigan or jacket in any size.
How?
First, you should have a tape measurement, and measure your neck circumference, or you can see the sizes on the table chart down.
Next, measure your shoulder length (single).
After that, make chains (multiple of 4) to the size of the neck circumference, and measure it with a tape measure without a stretch, then follow the pattern, and make rounds to To reach the right size for the single shoulder length.
Finally, you will divide it into 2 armholes, chest and back as I explained it in the pattern.

Finished size: 6 -12 months
The Gauge: 15 sts x 20 rows 10 cm (4″ x 4″)
Make chains (multiple of 4) to the size you want. I made this jacket for 6-12 months, so the measure of the neck circumference is 30 cm. I made 64 ch + 4 ch in the end.
Now we will divide the chains into 2 armhole, chest and back. How?
When you make chains (multiple of 4), you will divide the number of chains on 4, for example: I made 64 ch, right? Then make 64/4= 16 ch, then add 4 ch. Now count 8 ch (16/2=8) for the 1st half chest, then add the marker into next ch, count 16 ch for the shoulder, then add the marker into next ch, count 16 ch for the back, then add the marker into next ch, count 16 ch for the shoulder, then add the marker into next ch, and you left 8 ch for the 2nd half chest.
In each ch of 4 ch that we have previously tagged, we will make (2 dc, ch1, 2 dc), to make it square as you seen on the picture.

Round 1: make ch 2 and dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in next 7 ch, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) all in the same next ch, dc in next 16 ch, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) all in the same next ch, dc in next 16 ch, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) all in the same next ch, dc in next 16 ch, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) all in the same next ch, dc in next 8 ch.(80 dc).
Round 2: turn your work, and ch 3, dc in next 9 sts, now make (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 24 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 24 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 24 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 10 sts. (96 dc).

Round 3: turn your work, and ch 3, dc in next 11 sts, now make (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 28 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 28 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 28 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 12 sts. (112 dc).

Round 4: turn your work, and ch 3, dc in next 13 sts, now make (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 32 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 32 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 32 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 14 sts. (128 dc).

Round 5: turn your work, and ch 3, dc in next 15 sts, now make (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 36 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 36 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 36 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 16 sts. (144 dc).

Round 6: turn your work, and ch 3, dc in next 17 sts, now make (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 40 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 40 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 40 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch space, dc in next 18 sts. (160 dc).

Round 7: ch 3 and turn your work, dc in next 17, dc in the ch space, and sk 40 sts (the shoulder), then make dc in next ch space, dc in next 40 sts, dc in the ch space, and sk 40 sts (the shoulder), dc in next 18 sts. (120 dc).
Round 8: ch 1, dc in next each st around. (120) sts.

Round 9: ch 3 and 2 dc in the next st, sk 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, now rep (sk 2 sts, 3 dc in next st) 24 times, now you have 8 sts, but it isn’t enough to rep the sequence, so we will sk 3 sts instead of 2 sts. now sk 3 sts, 3 dc in next st, sk 3 sts, dc in the last st (the top of ch 3). (27 group of 3 dc).

Round 10: ch 3, 2 dc in the next (same) space, 3 dc in next each space, dc at the end. (27 group of 3 dc).
Round 11- 20: ch 3, 2 dc in the next (same) space, 3 dc in next each space, dc at the end. (27 group of 3 dc).
Round 21: ch 1, sc in each st, (82) sts.
Finishing:
On the side of the cardigan make sc around, make 2 sc in each space (dc). (32) sts.
